We’re excited to bring the area’s first Criterium to Dothan CityFest! Get there early to see the professional cyclists up close and have the best seats around!

We’ll have junior and adult amateur races beginning Saturday morning and lasting throughout the day with the professional races highlighting the evening.

What’s a criterium?

A Criterium, crit for short, is a professional bicycle race with a course that is closed to traffic and typically less than a mile in distance. The course is characterized by sharp corners and speeds of over 30 mph. The CityFest crit will feature a 1 mile course and will cover a large square downtown. Racers will speed around this course for a set number of minutes (some races are 30 minutes, and more advanced races are 60 minutes in duration). The first cyclist to cross the finish line on the last lap when time runs out wins.
